We’ve seen some rather contrasting Easter weekends over the last few years with heavy snow and bitterly cold temperatures or complete washouts. You’ll be happy to know that this Easter we’ll see none of the above!
This Easter is shaping up rather well for many of us, however, eastern and north-eastern parts of the country will see cooler temperatures and more in the way of cloud cover during the next few days but its not all doom and gloom! Lets look into a bit more detail below.
Good Friday Weather
Many will see a dry day of weather with plenty of brightness, especially across central, southern and western parts of the United Kingdom. Across northeastern parts of England and along North Sea coasts of Yorkshire & Lincolnshire, thicker cloud and patchy pockets of rain can be expected throughout the day.
We’ll also see some thicker cloud moving in from the West later in the day. Some light showers affecting parts of Ireland and Northern Ireland at times.

Good Friday – Maximum temperatures
Highs of 15c in the south and south-east, typically 9-12c elsewhere. Much cooler along North Sea coasts.
Saturday’s Weather
Cloudy conditions for most, though some brighter spells here and there, mainly in the west with further patchy rain or light showers affecting eastern and northeastern parts of the United Kingdom including E Scotland. Brisker easterly winds for a time, most evident across North Sea coasts with the cloud cover moving well inland.
Elsewhere, despite a shower risk across the spine of England, though mainly light in nature, it will be a dry day for most. Gusty winds across Scotland, Northern Ireland & Ireland throughout Saturday.

Saturday – Maximum temperatures
Temperatures certainly on the up across England, Wales and Ireland, away from North Sea coasts of Scotland and England. Maximums of 15, possibly 16c. Typically 11-13c elsewhere.
Easter Sunday Weather
Certainly the better day of the long Easter weekend in terms of temperatures, especially across central and southern parts of the United Kingdom and up into Wales and North-West England.
Despite the milder conditions there will still be plenty of cloud cover across the United Kingdom, though some brighter spells developing at times, especially across central and south-eastern parts of the country.
A different story for Ireland and Northern Ireland however with an Atlantic system moving in from the west bringing a spell of wet weather as the day progresses.
The frontal system will work its way eastwards across the United Kingdom, bringing a spell of wet weather for many on Sunday evening and overnight, eventually clearing away to the east on Monday morning.

Easter Sunday – Maximum temperatures
Certainly the mildest day across much of England and Wales, however, once again we’ll see cooler temperatures along North Sea coasts. Highs of 17, possibly 18c.
Easter Monday Weather
The overnight frontal system will clear away eastwards with sunshine and showers developing in-behind. At times the showers will be heavy and thundery, especially across the southern half of the United Kingdom and merging together to bring longer spells of rain. Temperatures slightly down to that of Sunday’s.
